Frequently Asked Questions
Carbon and Energy Management deciphers how your building uses energy while providing a clear analysis of energy and carbon emissions (scope 1 and 2) at the asset, site and portfolio levels. It uses smart meters, sensors and utility data to segment actual consumption and energy emissions by type of utility. It then analyzes that data alongside factors like weather, occupancy and utility rates to provide insight into building performance.
Scope 1 emissions are from fuels burned on site such as natural gases and fuel oil. Scope 1 includes emissions from combustion in owned or controlled boilers, furnaces and vehicles, and emissions from chemical production in owned or controlled process equipment.
Scope 2 emissions are from fuels burned off site to deliver energy to a building. It is primarily emissions from purchased electricity and heat or steam. Scope 2 can also be emissions that are a consequence of your organizations energy use but that occur at sources you do not own or control.
Yes. Honeywell’s Carbon and Energy Management solution can be scaled across a portfolio. No matter how many buildings are connected, the solution can show asset, site or portfolio level analytics.
