Hydrocarbon Processing Awards

  • Advanced Monitoring and Incident Response (AMIR) named best cybersecurity program
  • Senior Fellow Joseph Lu honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

ATLANTA, November 22, 2021 -- Honeywell (Nasdaq: HON) announced today that it has won two Awards from Hydrocarbon Processing (HP). Honeywell’s Advanced Monitoring and Incident Response managed security service (MSS) received the award for best cybersecurity program/software. Joseph Lu, Honeywell Advanced Solutions senior fellow, captured the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 2021 HP Awards recognized innovative technologies and people that have been instrumental in improving facility operations. To build and maintain operations technology (OT) cyber threat detection and response, Advanced Monitoring and Incident Response delivers 24/7, proactive capabilities that help industrial organizations identify and mitigate emerging cyber threats, manage overall risk and demonstrate compliance. The service is designed at a fraction of the cost of an in-house equivalent solution, and brings scalability, ease of deployment, automated analytics and the know-how of highly qualified OT cybersecurity professionals to identify and manage cybersecurity threats.

Lu serves as chief scientist at Advanced Solutions, part of Honeywell Connected Enterprise. One of his main inventions, Model Predictive Range Control (MPRC), established the foundation for an innovative family of Honeywell control products. More recently, Joseph invented the world’s first multi-scale plantwide optimizer which provides unified and real-time framework for facility-wide control and optimization. His contributions span from new Honeywell products to innovations across the industry.

Hydrocarbon Processing is the downstream energy sector's leading technical publication covering the global hydrocarbon processing industry. The fifth annual awards were nominated by readers with winners chosen by a third-party advisory board.
